After spending her first years a musician in the punk band Young Snake and then the new wave outfit 'Til Tuesday, Aimee Mann is singer/songwriter and multi-instrumentalist who embarked on a solo career in 1993 with the release of her debut solo album, Whatever. The record proved she could command an audience on her own with a folk/rock sound packed with catchy hooks and memorable choruses. Mann spent the rest of the 1990s earning critical acclaim with material including her 1995 album, I'm with Stupid, solidifying her reputation as a songwriter. Though her popularity began to dim into the 2000s, she remains a strong live performer whose formidable vocal talent equally matches her instrumental skill on the bass.
