This March gathering began as an effort to attract performers and visitors to the city. It features multiple performances, usually in various places around historic downtown Savannah. Past venues have included the Charles Morris Center, Telfair Academy, Lucas Theatre, Trinity United Methodist Church, Rousakis Plaza (River Street), and the Trustees Theater. The festival not only invites laureates of well-known international competitions, but also holds its own competition. In addition to concerts, there are normally dozens of cultural events around town, including workshops, lectures, juried art shows, and gallery tours. Ticket prices vary; many events are free.
