St. Agatha Day is an annual event is celebrated in honor of St. Agatha, the patron saint of married women. Held on the Sunday closest to February 5th, two women are chosen to act as mayors of the city for this special day. The community participates in street parades, food preparation, music and an effigy of a man is burned as part of the festivities; don't worry men, it's all in good fun!
