Award-winning singer and composer Kim Carnie, has featured not only on some of the UK?s biggest stages, but across the world via film and computer game soundtracks, including Netflix?s Outlaw King, Black Mirror and The Bard?s Tale. Since launching her solo career in 2018, Kim has become ofne of the most sought-after singers and session vocalists that Scotland has to offer.
Summer 2022 saw the release of her debut solo album ?And So We Gather?. The album has been recognised as one of the ?biggest folk and Gaelic records of the generation?. Bringing together some of the brightest names on the Scottish music scene, from Donald Shaw, Julie Fowlis and Karen Matheson to Senegalese Kora player Kadialy Kouyate and award-winning saxophonist Matt Carmichael.
Drawn towards cross-cultural collaboration, Kim has worked on numerous international projects, including with Griot royalty Trio Da Kali (Mali), multi award-winning Kora player Seckou Keita (Senegal), Kalakan (Basque Country), four-time GRAMMY nominee Cedric Watson (US/Creole) and Celtic Odyssee: a star-studded collaboration at Festival Interceltique de Lorient, featuring virtuoso Ronan Le Bars (Breton) and Jose Manuel Tejedor (Asturias). Earlier this year, Kim was honoured when invited to join the prestigious Transatlantic Sessions tour (2024) led by MD and sixteen-time GRAMMY award-winner, Jerry Douglas. The tour saw Carnie take to stage with country royalty, Carlene Carter (daughter of June Carter Cash), and folk and bluegrass stars Lindsay Lou and Joshua Burnside.
