A television host, actor and comedian, Oliver Pocher is one of Germany's most recognizable pop culture icons. Raised in Hanover, he began to appear on German television in the late-1990s, taking on a variety of roles that included a couple of hosting jobs. Pocher's youthful enthusiasm and natural sense of comic timing made him an ideal fit to lead a television program, and by the early-2000s, he was hosting his own show. His affinity for social pranks and humor at the expense of others has at times created a bit of controversy within Germany, yet Pocher remains one of the country's leading comic personalities. In addition to his film and television work, he's also dabbled in music, a side hobby that led to the recording of "Schwarz und Weiss,"his 2006 song about the World Cup.
