Best known for his role as founder and leader of the Palast Orchester, Max Raabe is a German vocalist, cabaret artist and comedian who has mastered the art of old style entertainment. Raabe founded the Palast Orchester in 1985 along with 11 of his classmates, and the ensemble slowly built its reputation and fanbase by playing original and classic dance band arrangements from the 1920s and 1930s, a time he refers to as the golden period of dance music. Known for donning fine dining attire during his cabaret performances, Raabe is a master of both nostalgia and wit.
