Since its origins in Boston in 1976, this alcohol-free, family-oriented celebration of New Year's Eve has become a major event throughout the world with over 200 cities taking part. Toronto's own festivities used to take place at the Harbourfront Centre on the city's waterfront, but now the revelry has moved inside to Toronto's Distillery District. Midway rides, a petting zoo and world music acts have been added to the event.
