A Place to Bury Strangers is a New York-based noise rock outfit with a loud, quasi-psychedelic, shoegaze-friendly rock sound. Releasing its 2007 eponymous album, the group's unique sonic aesthetic harks back to the late 1980s when alternative indie bands like My Bloody Valentine and Sonic Youth ruled the scene. The band's noisy garage rock style resonated with audiences around the US and UK on its first tours and by the time it released its follow-up record, 2009's Exploding Head, A Place to Bury Strangers had established itself as one of the bands at the helm of carrying the post punk revival of the early 2000s into the next decade.
