One of the most significant squares of Regensburg, Haidplatz is where the prominent historic figures visited when they were in town. Important dignitaries who have walked along the cobbled streets are Emperor Karl V, King Ludwig I, Emperor Wilhelm I and many others. This heritage site was restored not many years back and now features a plethora of restaurants and cafes along the streets. Traffic has been restricted in the area and is mostly filled with pedestrians looking to experience the town's rich history.
