To know more about the style of architecture before the American Civil War visit the Contentment Museum which was previously known as Colonel George Imboden House. Built in the year 1830, the house went through a couple of renovations under the order of the Colonel. It is listed on the U.S National Register of Historic Places and is operated as the Contentment Historical Complex under the ownership of the Fayette County Historical Society.
