TOURIST ATTRACTIONS & SIGHTSEEING, PRACTICAL INFORMATION
Rheine has been in existence since roughly the 9th century or around that time. As a result, there are plenty of historically significant buildings here such as Castle Bentlage which was used as a monastery and built in 1437, Gottesine Saltworks, Rheine Nature Zoo and the City Museum situated in Falkenhof, considered to be one of the most important buildings here. Hiking and biking trails are, of course, aplenty, adding something worthwhile for active vacationers.
