A visit to Schwetzingen is incomplete without exploring the Schwetzingen Castle, a rose-hued, majestic structure with equally impressive gardens. Schlosstheater Schwetzingen, one of the oldest theaters in Europe and also the host to major operatic events, is within the premises. Temples to Roman gods of Apollo, Mercury and Minerva as well as a Mosque, with small minarets are all worth seeing. A walk along the cobblestone streets will show you other sights in town such as the town hall, Catholic church St. Pankratius, and a host of other churches.
