Oozing quaint charm, this New England town sits by the edge of the Quinebaug River. With origins as a mill town, cotton, saw, and grist mills thrived here in the 1800s. Today, it is renowned for its fantastic festivals, events, and emphasis on the arts. Downtown Putnam is great for discovering myriad antique stores, art galleries and centers, boutiques, theaters, cafes, restaurants, and bars. In addition to these, the town is also known for its scenic outdoors.
