TOURIST ATTRACTIONS & SIGHTSEEING, PRACTICAL INFORMATION
Known popularly as the Circus City, Hugo gets its name from the French writer Victor Hugo. Since the 1940s, Hugo has been a preferred destination for traveling circuses and rodeo shows, after the Al G. Kelly and Miller Brothers Circus relocated here from Kansas. Today, the Mount Olivet Cemetery has become the final resting place of circus owners and rodeo cowboys that frequented the town. Situated along the Hugo Lake, Hugo offers a peaceful location for visitors to experience the serenity of nature. The Frisco Depot Museum is another splendid attraction where visitors can explore the region's railroad history.
