Dongo is one of the major towns of Alto Lario. Of Roman origin, it was one of the centers of the spread of Christianity in the 4th and 5th Centuries. It was dominated by the Viscounts and by Gian Giacomo Medici and is now a picturesque village full of religious and civil monuments of great artistic value.
