Thyssen-Bornemisza National Museum

The Thyssen-Bornemisza family collected what became one of the world's finest private art collections over several generations. The Spanish state bought it from them in 1993 and converted the early-19th-century neoclassical Villahermosa Palace into a fabulous art gallery. The museum houses the second largest collection and showcases some of the finest works of art. Spanning from 13th to 20th Century, the permanent collection of the museum has masterpieces from the likes of Renoir, Rembrandt, Van Dyck, Goya, Degas, Van Gogh, and others. A must-visit for art lovers, the Thyssen is definitely one of the best art museums around the globe.
