One of the city's most historically significant hotels, the Goldener Adler dates back to the 16th century. It has erected a bronze plaque near the entrance enumerating its many famous guests: Goethe, Mozart, Sartre and Paganini among others. Guests who wish to stay in the same room as these legends will have to pay for the privilege, but all the rooms are magnificently appointed with minibar, four-poster beds and double-sink bathrooms. The hotel also boasts a first-class restaurant serving Tyrolean specialties.
