Hotel Weißes Rössl (white horse) dates back to 1410 and is situated in a part of the old town which is known to locals as the Vier-Viecher-Eck, or "four beasts'" corner. The reason for this boils down to the names of the buildings in the area that include the "Red Eagle," "Golden Lion" and "Golden Deer." The Weißes Rössl is a venerable, rustic establishment with spacious rooms furnished in a country-house style. The hotel also houses two restaurants, both of which are renowned for their excellent Tyrolean cuisine.
