St. George Theatre

Opened in 1929, St. George Theatre serves as an elegant venue in Staten Island for musical, comedy and theatrical events. Its Baroque-designed building was largely restored and repaired in 2004. The restored interiors are reminiscent of lavish 17th-century theaters and exhibit the best of Italian and Spanish Baroque styles. Magnificent chandeliers, gilded decor, velvet seats, and a large cantilevered balcony are its prominent features. This theater hosts a variety of cultural and educational events, including off-Broadway shows, rock concerts, children's plays, and film festivals. The yearly calendar features diverse acts such as Christmas plays, extravaganzas, women-oriented dramas, motivational talks, and comedy shows.
