TX, United States
The perfect blend of old, country charm and fast-paced modern life, this Texan city will sweep you off your feet with its many attractions. The Stockyards are a great place to begin, where twice daily cowboys drive a small herd of cattle up Exchange Avenue, a retelling of the open-range cattle drives that were once characteristic of Fort Worth. Weekly rodeos, the Stockyards Museum and the Texas Cowboy Hall of Fame are a few of the other attractions that add to the experience of the historic Stockyards. While Fort Worth's Wild West roots peek through at every turn, the city also boasts some world-class museums designed by reputed contemporary architects. At the top of the list is the Kimbell Art Museum designed by Louis Kahn, as well as the Modern Art Museum of Fort Worth, the Amon Carter Museum of American Art and the Sid Richardson Museum of Western Art. For kids, the Six Flags Over Texas promises hours upon hours of mirth while the Museum of Science and History is great for a more edifying day out. From the Cowgirl Museum and the world's biggest honky-tonk to the restaurants and bars of Sundance Square, Fort Worth will have you kicking up your heels in no time.
