Hipódromo da Gávea

Located close to the Jardim Botânico on the Gávea end of the Lagoa, this track has been used by Carioca punters since 1926. At Hipódromo da Gávea, you can enjoy races four times a week all year round. A few reals will get you into the more luxurious lodge area, but it might be more fun to sit with the rest of the crowd. The racecourse also plays host to concerts and other events.
