In the 1600s, comedians gave performances under the open sky while passing through Glauchau. In the 1800s, the first theater was built where today's theater now stands. It was not until the 1920s that the Stattheater Glauchau was constructed in the Art Deco style. Today, local and national theater troupes perform on the gorgeous stage. Visitors to the theater can learn more about its history and take in one of its wonderful performances.
