Poznan is the fifth largest city in Poland in terms of population, and a very old metropolis. In medieval times it was, for a time, the capital of the Polish state. Poznan is full of places of higher learning, and is the region's cultural center. Poznan is a place where you can have some time to take in the sites and slow down - something different from bigger cities like Warsaw or Krakow.
