Abbot Hall Art Gallery was established with the aim to preserve the beautiful historic building that was about to be demolished due to its non-occupational status. Consequently this gallery was opened in the year 1962, and now serves as one of the most important places to house unique art. A tour through the gallery will show you paintings and artwork by the likes of George Romney and John Ruskin apart form other Victorian artists.
