Incorporated as a city in March 1897 after years of being a borough, Asbury Park lies in New Jersey's Monmouth County. Its location by the sea was a major reason why it was developed as a seaside resort, and named in honor of the erstwhile bishop Francis Asbury. Synonymous with music scenes and the legend Bruce Springsteen, this city is a haven for music producers, lyricists, song writers and vocalists. A pulsating nightlife is yet another reason why younger travelers arrive here during summer breaks and festivals.
