Rutland is a small city located in the Sargent County of North Dakota. Founded in 1886, the town was originally going to be named Stewart, after Albert H. Stewart who has donated the land for the town. However, since there was already a town called Stewartville in the state, the residents finally chose Rutland as its name. Today, the city is a typical small town, surrounded by other small towns of the state. However, the city does have an array of lakes and other wonders of natural beauty, and they are well maintained, since hunting is one of the main sports here.
