Home to the historic campus of Central Michigan University, Mount Pleasant rose to prominence as a college town in the 19th Century. Today, the sprawling landscape of the town narrates the fascinating story of its past through busy streets and old buildings. The old downtown is where the town's old charm unfolds, with a colorful farmers' market, little shops, restaurants, and other exciting local events.
