OH, United States
Located along the sinuous curve of the Ohio River across from the cities of Newport and Covington in Kentucky state, Cincinnati is also known as the 'Queen of the West'. This city stands out from the American Midwestern landscape as one that blends various regional cultures into its riverside realm. Once home to a thriving German immigrant population that soon declined in the aftermath of World War I, Cincinnati is now home to a stunning 19th-century heritage, an arsenal of festivals, and a booming cultural scene that straddles theater, music and sports. Although the physical vestiges of its erstwhile German influence have long faded away, its residual European culture still finds significance in many of Cincinnati's pursuits – from Bavarian-inspired culinary inclusions, to Oktoberfest-themed festivals. One of the city's main draws is the action that surrounds its two professional sports teams – the NFL's Cincinnati Bengals and the Cincinnati Reds of the Major Baseball League.
