This reasonably large park can be found just outside Amsterdam's city center, west of the popular and picturesque Jordaan area of the city in an area that shares its name: Westerpark. The park may not be as large and sprawling as the more central Vondelpark, but is usually much less crowded. During the summer it is a favorite among locals for picnics and barbecues. For those with more of a sporting bent, there are a number of tennis courts available to use, while on a smaller scale the outdoor ping pong table is always a good choice.
