Built in 1965, it was earlier known as Estádio Municipal de Guimarães, it now renamed in the honor of Dom Afonso Henriques, King of Portugal. Estádio D. Afonso Henriques can accommodate 30,165 spectators, and is equipped with modern facilities and state-of-the-art equipment. With the exception of match days, this stadium also hosts private events and entertaining gigs.
