Located on the mouth of Cataraqui River, Kingston used to be the capital of Canada till the year 1844. Nicknamed "Limestone City", several heritage structures in Kingston were built using locally sourced limestone, earning the moniker. Some of the city's renowned heritage structures include Fort Henry, Kingston Penitentiary, St. Mary's Cathedral and many more.
