Museum für Sepulkralkultur illustrates the experience of death and the act of commemoration. Built in 1992, this unique two-storey museum was designed by German architect and author- Wilhelm Kücker under the command of renowned theologian- Reiner Sörries. A permanent exhibition educates at the museum educates visitors about the diverse funeral cultures of German-speaking countries dating back to the Middle Ages. Several readings, lectures and cultural events also take place here. The museum library also features over 16,500 photographs, catalogs and journals about the death.
