Forsthaus Willrode is an iconic seven building complex and a significant landmark of Erfurt. Built in the 13th Century, the building acts as a meeting place for locals, a scenic farmland for tourists and a hunting lodge. Flanked by the scenic forest area of Egstedt and Schellroda, the building serves as favorite halt for hikers. Lapidary- stone carvings, former pumping station of Brunnenhaus and a 17th-century oven are the main attractions of Forsthaus Willrode. An onsite, 18th-century bakery is a good spot to unwind after a long day of sightseeing and hiking.
