Saratoga Springs

Named after the mineral springs found in the region, Saratoga Springs is a popular tourist destination near the Adirondacks that is best known for equestrian sports. Visit the town between June and September and head to the Saratoga Race Track to see the thoroughbred horses. Balloon flights in the Adirondacks are also organized from the city, in which one can experience sweeping views of the countryside. The Saratoga Lake is a popular attraction as well. However, the primary attraction of the town are the natural mineral springs that are believed to have healing powers. Today, it makes for a salubrious getaway with attractions such as the Saratoga Spa State Park.
