A countryside estate in Maidstone was transformed into a beautiful public park in the 18th Century. The park includes a stately residence known as the Mote house along with other sites such as the golf course, cricket pitch, mini railway and a boating lake. There is also a major cricket ground that is owned and managed by the Mote Cricket Club. Other features of the Mote Park consists an adventure playzone, leisure center, sailing club, rugby pitches, cycling trails, skating path, squash club and refreshment areas.
