Situated along the bay of Mont St-Michel is the brilliant headland of Pointe du Grouin. Offering breathtaking views of the eastern water and equally sublime scenery of the off shore island, the headland is a major tourist spot in the heart of the village. On a clear day, from the top of the rocky area, you can see the city of Mont Saint-Michel. It also gives a very splendid view of the Normandy coast and the lighthouse on the island, which is off limit due to being a major bird preservation area.
