This is the most important square in Santiago. It's found in front of the Baroque façade of the Cathedral, between three important buildings: the medieval Hostal de los Reyes Católicos, the medieval Palacio de San Xerome, and the neo-classical Palacio de Raxoi. It seems small next to the Cathedral and the other prominent buildings. It's covered with gray stone and eight orange lines cross at the center, symbolizing the end of the roads leading to Santiago. This is where military parades, concerts and demonstrations are all held. This is the image the world has in mind when it thinks of Santiago.
