Tupelo

Cradled in the northeast recesses of Mississippi, this quaint city has seen years of European colonization as well as Native American inhabitation. Named in honor of a Civil War battle that occurred nearby, the town amazingly snowballed into a robust city during the industrial boom of the late 19th Century due to its location at the intersection of railroad lines. Famed for being the birthplace of the illustrious singer Elvis Presley, the city is flecked with several of his commemorative monuments.
