One of the most impressive and picturesque castles to adorn the valley of Loire in Villandry, the Chateau de Villandry was built in 1536 and is a picture of extreme beauty and serenity. Not only are the Castle’s architecture and interior designing a beautiful work of art, it is the well maintained and flourishing six gardens surrounding the structure that steal the show. These 19th Century, perfectly aligned gardens were initially built in the Renaissance style and include a water garden, ornamental flower gardens, and different vegetable gardens. It is one of the most frequently visited castles in the region and the gardens provide wide open spaces for the entire family to relax in. They have been continuously renovated and expanded and today, the gardens also serve as the perfect setting for any important event or marriage function.
