Mackinac Island was incorporated as a city in 1899 and is mainly a tourist spot. It is an island that has no motor vehicles and traveling is mostly done on foot, horseback or bicycles. It is also famous for its fudge shops. This place will definitely transport you to a different era. Check out the Mackinac Community Equestrian Center, Original Mackinac Island Butterfly House & Insect World, Wawashkamo Golf Course and The Grand Hotel. Other interesting sites include Arch Rock, Devil’s Kitchen, Mackinac Island State Park, Fort Mackinac and The Tower Museum.
