The Kasernenareal lies sprawled before the Alte Kaserne, close to the heart of the city of Zurich. While the old barracks have come to be a popular venue for events, the Kasernenareal boasts a varied program of its own. The spacious park hosts outdoor events like festivals and fairs, alongside open-air concerts that attract quite an audience. Circus Monti pitches its tents at Kasernenareal each year and its shows are the most popular of the many events hosted here. When not being used as an event venue, Kasernenareal is simply neighborhood park with benches where people come to relax and enjoy the sunshine.
