Nestled on the western borders of New York's Columbia County, Hudson is a bustling city which flourished along the banks of the Hudson River. Also named after the famous adventurer Henry Hudson, it was connected to Greene County's Athens by a ferry in the 19th Century. Hudson saw rapid industrialization in the 18th Century. Firemen's Association of the State of New York Museum in Hudson is one of the world's biggest exposition spaces dedicated to fire service industry. New York's grandest free music extravaganza, Hudson Music Festival, is a prime attraction every year. Other attractions include the lively farmer's market, the historic Hudson Hall, and cozy local restaurants.
