Built by King Carlos III in the 18th Century, this grand theater had a lavish inauguration with all of the royal family in attendance. It went through major renovations in the next century, however was bought privately in the 20th Century as a movie theater. After its closure in 1989, it was left derelict. Thankfully this architectural gem of a bygone era was restored and transformed into the Teatro Real Carlos III de Aranjuez as it is now known. Staying true to its original form, this beautiful theater hosts theater, dance, musicals and drama.
