Jimmy LaFave

Although he was born on a tiny farming town outside of Dallas, singer/songwriter Jimmy LaFave will always be associated with Oklahoma, where he once made his home. Deeply influenced by fellow Okie Woodie Guthrie, LaFave plays a sumptuous and delicate blend of country, folk and singer/songwriter rock that he dubs, "red dirt music." LaFave's distinctive high voice--simultaneously rich and brittle--is known not just in Austin, but all over the world.
