Led Washington-based musician Phil Elverum, Mount Eerie is an indie rock band and a staple of the Northwestern music scene. Formerly known as The Microphones, Elverum's project has featured a rotating cast of players since 1998. Officially adopting the Mount Eerie pseudonym in 2003, after Washington's Mount Erie, the band released its debut record, "No Flashlight" Songs of the Fulfilled Night, in 2005. Seamlessly blending haunting folk with noise-based indie rock and built up crescendos that border on metalcore cacophonies, Mount Eerie has collected a close-knit following in its home state as well as with independent music fans across the country.
