Mat Cothran, who goes by the pseudonym Coma Cinema, produces a melancholy style of bedroom pop that provides a vulnerable backdrop for his warbling voice. Born and raised in South Carolina, Cotharn began experimenting with drum machines and bedroom arrangements in the early 2000s but didn't attempt to share his music until he had a respectable catalog in 2009. Despite the fact that Coma Cinema is a bedroom act, it incorporates enough rich instrumentation to be (fittingly) cinematic, thus setting Cothran apart from other similar acts. Its last album Loss Memory was released in 2017.
