Black Devil or Black Devil Disco Club is the name a pair of French musicians take when they assume their positions as members of their disco-influenced house DJ duo. The group first released its debut album in 1978 in limited quantity. The recording went to to achieve somewhat of a cult following and though the duo never amounted to any sort of monumental success, it's regarded highly by fans of early electronic music. Heavily factoring in disco basslines with thumping house beats, Black Devil manages to make a style of music that's antiquated yet somehow fresh. The duo has managed to release a few more studio recordings and while the group's sound is obviously updated, it still has elements of early electro, evident to attuned listeners.
