Australian three-piece Seekae aims to create music that strikes a balance between icy electronic textures and blissful pop music. Based in Sydney, the group uses both live instrumentation and digital tools by way of diced up vocal samples, drum loops and layers of synth lines in its songs. The result is a psychedelically-tinged form of chill out music that manages to seem coldly detached, yet still warm and accessible, thanks in large part to the trio's wide-eyed melodic sensibility. Fans of Boards of Canada, Prefuse 73, Portishead and other notable names in the worlds of IDM, glitch and trip-hop will most likely appreciate Seekae's contributions to the electronic scene.
