Made up of a group of seven musicians residing in a small town at the foot of the Montserrat mountain range near Barcelona, Anímic creates haunting acoustic folk that incorporates traditional Spanish guitar, Balkan horns and whispery vocals, sung in both English and Spanish. The group prefers DIY production and generally self-records and self-releases its albums; this has allowed Anímic to remain true to the type of music it set out to create. Since forming in 2006, the band has steadily built an underground following and has earned itself a reputation as a band that plays beautiful and interesting music.
