Howling Bells formed in Sydney, Australia in 2004 out of the ashes of band Waikiki. The group soon after packed up and moved to the UK where it recorded a debut record with Coldplay producer, Ken Nelson. It was released in May, 2006 on the Bella Union label to much critical acclaim. Howling Bells spent much of the next 2 years touring mostly Europe, Australia and parts of the US, and also performed at numerous festivals over the 2006 English summer including Reading/Leeds. The four-piece has since continued to develop its indie rock sound to include more angular, post-punk guitars and a stronger focus on front-woman Juanita Stein's grunge-inspired vocals.User-contributed text is available under the Creative Commons By-SA License and may also be available under the GNU FDL.Description from last.fm.
